Moroccan Wall Mirror

A rare and commanding example of 19th century Moroccan craftsmanship, this exceptional mirror and matching console captures the artistry and architectural beauty of Moorish design at its most refined🪞 v

Dating to circa 1880, the pair is intricately inlaid with individually hand-cut pieces of walnut, rosewood, lemon, and olive timbers, each fragment carefully composed into a richly detailed geometric tapestry. The frame is further distinguished by its open screen carving, echoing the elegance of traditional Moorish architecture, where light and shadow animate every surface.

The original bevelled glass mirror adds depth and authenticity, while the matching console below mirrors the same extraordinary level of craftsmanship, an increasingly rare survival as a complete set. Standing at an impressive 2100mm high and 900mm wide, this is a true statement piece, architectural in scale, yet finely detailed in execution. Pieces of this calibre, particularly those that have remained together, are seldom encountered.

At Antique Retro Warehouse, we seek out objects with true character—pieces that carry permanence, craftsmanship, and individuality. This pair perfectly embodies that ethos: rare, decorative, and undeniably impactful.
